PVC Vinyl Siding Installation
1.Start Strip (1) Measure the height between eave and the lowest point that vinyl siding panel covers. (2) Based on the least height,draw a chalk line.Use level to make sure that the line is horizontal. (3) In parrel with chalk line,install start strip. (4)Start Strip should has some space with Exterior corner or Interior corneraround 1/4-1/3 inch. (5)Screws or nails should be in the middle of slots,but can not be too tight. Make sure that it can movefrom left to right. Around every 15 inch a nail.
2.Exterior Corner (1)Use level to draw a vertical chalk line (2) Flange of exterior corner should follow the chalk line in order for it to be plumb. (3)Length of exterior corner should be 1/4 inch less than the height of the wall. For this space, you can install your soffit. (4)For first nail, should be in the top of the nail.For other nails, it is better to be in the middle of the slots.Distance between Nails shoule better be 12-15 inches (5) Don't hammer nails tight into the backing or furringsthis will allow for expansions and contraction. Usually distance between nail and vinyl siding shoule be 1/8 inch, and can move up and down just like this.(6) If wall is very high, need to joint several exterior corner together,the upper one shoule be on the top.The underside one need to cut off 0.1 inch.
3. Interior Corner The process to install Interior corner is almost same as exterior corner Please refer to the above instructions.4.J Chanel and installation around Door and Window (1)When installing J Chanel around window, need to calculate the length and width first Length=Window Width+2*J Channel width.And make J channel and vinyl siding on same plane.Cut off the upside of the J channel.Length is same asJchannel width (2) If window is round shape, installation is same method as normal oneWhen install it. use heater to make it the same angle as the window (3)When installing J channel for the door,cut two J Channel on the two sides and one on the top.All the process and method are same asthe window. (4)J channel around air conditioner and balcony can use same way to install J Channel (5)For other instructions,such as nail distance,joint or accessories distance,please refer to former accessories
5.J Chanel on the top of the wall (1)Before installing vinyl siding panel on the topinstall J channel first. (2) In the joint partcut 45°angle on the two pieces of J channel, joint them together. (3) When installing vinyl siding panel,keep the wall panel and J channel on same plane
6.PVCViny Siding Panel (1) Install first vinyl siding on the start strip.Make sure that vinyl siding pane and start strip lock up well. (2)Screws or nails should be installed in the middle of the slots and should not be too tight. Make sure that the viny siding can move from left to right and also the reverse direction.Usually 15-20 cm we install one nail or screw. (3)Length of vinyl siding should be 0.3 inch shorter than distance of accessoriesgrooves. In this way,it can prevent from the damage or deformation brought by contraction and expansion. (4)When jointing vinyl siding panel together,make sure that each two has 2 inch distance from each other. And also keep joint parts away from exits or air vent. (5) Every 4 panels,check if vinyl siding is horizontal.If notadjust them.And don’t pull it up or down after installation(6)Vinvl sidina need to be cuttina when meet obstructions.such as windowdrainae svstem or exhaust system.
